The promise of equal social chances and legal protection is known as “civil rights.” The goals of civil rights movements historically have been racial fairness and equality. 

The American Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s and the struggle against South Africa’s apartheid, an official system of discrimination that ended in 1994, are two prominent instances. Around the world, organizations and activists are still working to advance justice and equality. The top 10 organizations are listed below:

1. Black Lives Matter (BLM):

5. Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC):

8. Advancement Project:

9. Amnesty International:

10. Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR):
