More than 25000 migrants have crossed the English Channel illegally acquiring small boats. The United Kingdom Home Office confirmed that the exact number was 25052 in a statement and also said that 717 illegal immigrants came across via the boats on Sunday.

The ministry has said that the figures till now are way higher than last year that is of 2023 (23,996 people) but is of reduced state if compared to the illegal migration figures recorded in 2022 (31,440 people).

The UK Home Office Spokesperson was heard saying, “Our new Border Security Command will strengthen global partnerships and enhance our efforts in investigating, arresting and to prosecute.”

The migration numbers have risen up to 10000 since the country’s Labour Party won the election and came to power in July 2024. Former Police Chief Martin Hewitt has been appointed as the new Border Security Commandeer, the highest post in the chain of command for the particular security force.

Last week there was a meeting where the UK Prime Minister stated that he is not going to put an arbitrary date on stopping the small boats from crossing the Channel but is hell bent to deal with the smuggling gangs who facilitate the illegal people migration.

The United Kingdom receives quite a huge influx of migrating people from across the world and neighbouring regions both legally and illegally due to the bright career prospects and better living conditions.

The English channel is one of the busiest and dangerous waterways in the world. Many migrants cross over from the worst economically poor and chaos hit regions worldwide and ask for asylum after being caught and questioned by the border immigration authorities.
