Dr Saveera Parkash, a member of the minority community, filed her nomination papers for a general seat for 2024 general election.
Dr Saveera Parkash, a member of the Hindu community, wants to contest on a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) ticket. Her father, Oam Parkash, was an active member of the party.

Dr Saveera Parkash is the first woman from Buner, a district in the Malakand Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, to file her nomination papers for the upcoming election.
Currently, she holds the position of general secretary in the PPP women’s wing in Buner. She holds a degree from Abbottabad International Medical College.
Dr Saveera Parkash submitted her nomination papers on December 23. She said that she wanted to work for the country’s poor and women. She wanted to work for the well-being of women in the region, advocating for women’s rights.
Dr Saveera Parkash said that women were “oppressed and overlooked” in the region. She pledged to “serve humanity.”
Saleem Khan, who is affiliated with the Qaumi Watan Party, said that Dr Saveera Parkash was the first woman from Buner to submit nomination papers for the upcoming elections.
Imran Noshad Khan, a social media influencer from Buner, lauded Saveera Parkash over her nomination.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) mandates a 5% inclusion of women candidates in general seats.
