Belarus Accepts Pakistani Workers Due to Labor Shortage Crisis

Belarus and Pakistan run a program to let 150,000 Pakistani people work in Belarus because of a government worker shortage. At their meeting on Friday in Minsk, President Lukashenko explained that Belarus and Pakistan will mutually benefit from this agreement since many Pakistanis want to work in his country. The agreement will introduce suitable workplaces while establishing help programs for Pakistani workers to join life in Belarus.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif explained that Belarus would gain from employing Pakistani workers because these workers hold recognized national and international certifications. The lack of enough workers in Belarus matches 200,000 people, which seriously hurts economic growth and basic service delivery.

Belarus and Pakistan entered this partnership because Polish officials now detect rising migration numbers from Belarus toward Poland. During late 2021 Poland increased border protection because large groups mainly from Africa and the Middle East tried to enter from Belarus.
