During his first rally after the recent debate involving Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, former US President and Republican nominee Donald Trump reiterated his focus on executing large-scale deportations of migrants, if elected in November’s election.
On Sunday, before his second attempted assassination, he stressed his controversial statements in a post on his Truth Social account and his X account, promising to terminate the CBP One app – describing it as the “Kamala phone app for smuggling illegals”.
In the same post, Trump highlighted his focus on ending the “migrant invasion” of the US, promising to stop all migrant flights, end all illegal entries, revoke deportation immunity, suspend refugee settlement and return illegal migrants to their home countries.

Trump is not the only Republican to have criticised the CBP One app. Senator Ted Cruz has alleged that the app’s recent expansion to southern Mexico states is a move by the administration to “make it even easier for illegal aliens” to come through the border.
Besides some Republicans, several humanitarian groups have also reported that the mobile application is being used by cartels to target migrants. The system has a huge backlog, forcing many immigrants to stay at the border, exposing them to danger.
Other critics have stressed that the CBP One app often crashes, gives error messages and has a language barrier that makes it difficult for non-citizens to use. It appears the topic of illegal immigration is going to influence US elections till the end.
