Chinese School Makes 6-Year-Old Girl Wash Dishes For 20 Days, Father Complains

A 6-year-old girl student in People’s Republic of China was made to wash dishes of 25 children at school for three weeks. She would go home drenched in sweat. The incident sparked outrage in China, with many condemning the school.

According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the father complained about the incident but the school did not respond. Later on, the innocent child was expelled from the school. 

The father uploaded a video on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, claiming that his 6 year old daughter was made to wash the dishes of 25 children for 21 days straight at her kindergarten. The girl’s father, surnamed Yu, slammed the school. 

The father said, “One night, she woke up in the middle of the night and said, ‘Daddy, I don’t want to go to kindergarten anymore. I’m too tired from washing dishes. While other kids were playing, I was left alone to wash the dishes.’”

What happened to the 6 year old girl?

The girl’s father described the teacher as “malicious.” The school said that the girl was made to wash the dishes because she was too “lively.” When the father raised the issue with the kindergarten, the school authorities said that the girl was made to wash the dishes to make her tough.

The father condemned the school’s statement. The father added, “After I exposed the incident, the kindergarten started to take revenge on my kid.”

The girl student became a target of bullies and was expelled from the school. Other students would bully her and the school did not take any action. 

When the grandparents went to the school to pick up their granddaughter, they found that she was expelled. The kindergarten did not provide any reason to the family.

The girl’s father said, “To date, the teacher has not faced me or offered any explanation.”

School’s statement

The kindergarten said that the teachers were not wrong. The kindergarten further said that the school would start legal proceedings against the girl’s father. A legal advisor to the kindergarten said that the school never bullied children and had never engaged in illegal or inappropriate conduct.

The local education authority is currently investigating the whole incident.
