The movie inspired by true events follows a young boy from Mexico who is trafficked across the border and sold to a sweatshop in Los Angeles. The movie touches upon the current border crisis along with child labour and trafficking and how the migrant children are exploited in the supply chain of American corporations.

The production house, Roadside Attractions, as previously announced, is set to release across theatres on 30th August.

As per Ramaswami, the film is an American horror story and every American can relate to it. He said, “This film will keep you on the edge of the seat and I’m proud to be working with Sean and Mo as an executive producer on this important film”.

Writer and Director Ramchandani is an Indian born person whose own father used to work in a sweatshop after being exiled from Pakistan during the 1947 Partition of India under British rule. Thus this work makes it more personal to him.

“After my mother passed away a few years ago, I decided to invest her life insurance policy to make this film. Like me, Vivek is of Indian heritage and has deep humanity for this country. And Colleen is a queen of Hollywood whose work I have admired my whole life. I am humbled by Vivek, Colleen, and everyone who has been moved by this film and who want to bring awareness to this issue of children that have been sold into slavery in America and to pursue a collective mission to rescue them.”

Ramaswamy recently bought a minority stake in media company BuzzFeed. Camp is the star of movies such as Apocalypse Now, American Hustle, The Deliverance, which premiered on streaming platforms like Netflix among several others.
