Cyprus Puts Timely Asylum Status Grant In Place Through Landmark System

Cyprus – Interior minister of Cyprus has signed a milestone deal recently with the European Union. This deal will help to manage the irregular migration. The deal will help to improve the migrant reception facilities and make it earlier for Cyprus to send back rejected asylum seekers. Migration has become a huge pressing humanitarian crises as many Middle Eastern countries and African countries have been hit by civil war and therefore resulting economic downfall.

The landmark agreement on irregular migration is signed by the Cypriot interior minister, Nicos Nouris, and the EU Home Affairs Commissioner, Ylva Johansson. During the signing ceremony, this week, Nouris said “Today is a milestone for the Republic of Cyprus and efforts made by the government to manage a problem that has plagued our country.”

Ylva Johansson tweeted that the deal would implement ‘timely asylum procedures’ to reduce the backlog ‘to establish effective integration and improve the efficiency of returns.’
