Elon Musk accepts Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s fight challenge: Netizens react
On national television on July 31, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro challenged Tesla CEO Elon Musk to a fight. The billionaire entrepreneur accepted it, putting multiple posts on social media platform X and luring netizens’ reactions.
“I’m coming for you Maduro! … I’ll carry you to Gitmo on a donkey,” Musk noted in a post, referring to an informal name for the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, a US military prison located on a naval base along the Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
Maduro faces allegations of electoral fraud amid violent protests
The tensed environment surrounding Musk and Maduro took shape after the entrepreneur accused the socialist leader of “major election fraud”, as both the incumbent President and opponent Edmundo Gonzalez claimed victory in the 2024 Venezuelan election.
Speaking on national television, Maduro blamed Musk of engineering attacks against his country, claiming the SpaceX CEO is behind an apparent “computer hacking” at the National Electoral Council (CNE), reported India Today.

If he wins, I give him a free ride to Mars,” the entrepreneur further mentioned on X.Venezuelans are furious over the country’s economic collapse during the incumbent’s 11-year term in office and a migration crisis that has seen 8 million citizens flee. Global leaders have also expressed serious doubts over the election results, calling for transparency.
