Embassy of Nepal in London facilitates webinar on science, health, and diplomacy

On Thursday, the Embassy of Nepal in London teaming with the Glasgow Caledonian University facilitated a global webinar on the growing importance of the role of science, public health, and diplomacy.

Nepal’s Ambassador to the UK Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, an adviser to the President of Albania Harris Wongali shared the experience of Albania while talking about the pandemic and the difficulties and aftermaths faced by many emerging nations.

Rector of Berlin-based European University for Applied Science Prof Maurits van Rooijen emphasized the role of colleges in the globalization of wellbeing services and the effects of coronavirus on globalization.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali stated in his address that the worldwide coronavirus pandemic has unfavorably influenced the developing and landlocked nation, for example, Nepal and it needs global participation and joint effort to handle the challenge of this growing health crisis

However, so far the greatest diplomatic difficulty brought about by the pandemic over the globe is about participation and a joint effort between the researchers as well as the adequacy of science diplomacy, former Professor of the Anglia University Richard Harwe stated.

The Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Tunisia Prof Tohami Abduli threw light on worldwide solidarity and diplomacy, while Professor of Glasgow Caledonian University Prof Titus Olani highlighted the importance of renewable and sustainable power supply development.

While as per analysts, primarily all countries are experiencing the spread of the virus, it is turning out to be more evident that it’s tough for poor nations, and they are hit the hardest.

For some, the coronavirus pandemic isn’t the main danger they are facing but along with it the social, political, and financial impacts are shaping a genuine peril too.

Moreover, more worrisome is the food crisis for the poor, and famine-affected nations, such as Yemen.  Another more stressing matter is medical services for countries that already have a fragile health care system.
