
Four Dead, Six Injured After South Korean Highway Bridge Collapse
A section of highway bridge being built in Anseong crumbled Tuesday morning due to construction damage which killed four workers and hurt six others.
The collapse of this construction site happened at 9:50 am local time because two South Korean and two Chinese nationals lost their lives while working there. Four people received severe wounds besides the person with light injuries. The National Fire Agency public official stated that every person who is hurt receives medical attention in nearby hospitals. Choi Sang-mok leads the rescue effort by requesting all possible resources be sent to the disaster scene.
A recording team captured the bridge segment crashing instantly which sent up dense dust. Hyundai Engineering uses interviews to accept responsibility and agree to work with official organizations to determine bridge segment collapse reasons. The organization officially accepts blame for all casualties and injuries resulting from the building site accident. Workers keep dying on the job across South Korea with this latest fatality increasing their total work accident deaths from 2020 to 2023 to 8,000.
