The clean energy economy in Georgia has positioned the state as a national leader through its 82,000 resident workforce which exceeds the number of jobs at Delta Air Lines—the leading private employer in Atlanta. The recent “2024 Georgia Clean Energy Jobs & Economic Impact Report” positions Georgia as the 15th state for clean energy workforce where projections show the employment numbers will keep growing because of new energy projects coming into service.
The economic contributions identified in the report from Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) received high recognition from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. The state of Georgia stands as the top in the country regarding EV-related investments at $31.3 billion while clean generation projects deliver $36.7 million in tax income to local and state authorities and property owners. These initiatives generated $23.6 million in income for farmers along with ranchers and private landowners and their families.Georgia under the leadership of Chris Clark President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber builds its position as a national leader in the clean energy economy through such initiatives as solar energy and electric vehicles smart grid technology e-mobility aerospace innovation sustainable fuels and upcoming market-ready breakthroughs. Ryan Evans from CICE stated “The clean energy section develops twice as quickly as the regular economic activity” while the state of Georgia carries out clean energy production and cleantech advancement throughout its communities.
