Germany: The Unemployment Population of December 2024 has Rises below the expectation
The official unemployment statistics of December 2024 has been unveiled by the Federal Labour Office in Germany. They monitor and report the unemployment and the other labour market trends officially. On Friday, they released the population of unemployment in Germany (December 2024) which rose to 10,000. Meanwhile, it is said to be below the expected population of 15,000.
The Head of the Labour office, Andrea Nahles said that the unemployment rate of the seasonally adjusted terms to 2.87 million and remains steady at 6.1% which is the major contribution for the fall of the unemployed population for the previous month.
“The winter break on the labour market begins in December. As a result, unemployment and underemployment increased in December, as usual for this month” said Andrea Nahles, The Head of the Labour office.
“In addition, the shortage of skilled workers and weakening labour productivity are dampening growth prospects for the German economy” said Martin Mueller, economist.
Andrea Nahles has also pointed out that the job openings for the year 2024 was 654,000 which is 59,000 lesser than a year ago. It is a consequence of the slowing labour demand.
“Looking back, the ongoing economic downtown in 2024 has left increasingly deep marks on the labour market” – Andrea Nahles.
In 2024, the 7,000 layoff of the leading automotive supplier in Germany, Bosch, is considered to be the most effective one in the previous year due to the difficult economic situation.
