A recent graduate, Adina Hira was having a harrowing experience in search of her first job in Pakistan. She had applied for some simple office jobs through a website called Indeed. But instead of normal job information, she got creepy messages from the person in charge of hiring.
Inappropriate “Job Requirements” Revealed
According to the account of Sadam Bukhari, the manager, he said there was only one vacancy for a personal assistant. The terms of the employment, as he put it, included the provision of a place to live and pay in return, while she would have to do something very wrong. He meant she was to spend “quality time” with the boss, intending that she should engage in sexual acts, which are never part of the job.
Brave Woman Speaks Out
Hira was infuriated over the incident. She then took to social media and posted an experience of what had happened to forewarn other people. According to her, looking for a job in Pakistan as a woman is very difficult. The post was viewed many times; a lot of people came out to support her. After Hira’s story had gone viral, the company came out to say it did not recognize the man who had sent her those messages.
