Hamas released three Israeli hostages earlier today, just before the 12 O’clock deadline set by US President Donald Trump. The militants transferred the hostages to the Red Cross in Gaza. Later, they received medical treatment and the reunification procedure commenced.

The hostages had been abducted during the October 7 attack launched by Hamas on Israel. The release is part of a fragile Gaza ceasefire deal and comes after a series of tense negotiations. Israel is freeing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners for the hostages.

Under the agreement, six exchanges have been carried out since the ceasefire took affect on January 19. Just a day earlier, Donald Trump had issued a stern ultimatum, highlighting consequences if all hostages are not released by noon on Saturday.

He expressed frustration over the pace of the release process, insisting that the hostages should be freed all at once. The Gaza ceasefire deal is a ray of hope for millions of people in the region. The Middle East crisis is making global headlines.
