Infosys layoffs: IT giant denies using intimidation tactics

Earlier this month, Infosys faced a backlash after it laid off more than 300 freshers. The people had undergone foundational training at the company’s Mysuru campus but could not clear internal assessments, reported Mint.

On February 19, the IT giant noted that it did not use force or intimidation tactics as it laid off employees, adding that it is explaining the circumstances to the labour department authorities. Is the recent situation going to affect upcoming hiring at Infosys?

In response to a question about if the layoffs are going to significantly dent Infosys’ brand as the firm goes out to campuses for FY26 hiring, the Chief Human Resources Officer noted that the plans to hire 20,000 freshers are on track.

IT employee union NITES had sought urgent intervention from the labour department after the layoffs happened, urging authorities to take strict action against the company. Keep an eye out for more information.
