On 18 December 1990, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution on the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families. On 4 December 2000, the United Nations General Assembly declared December 18 as International Migrants Day.
