LinkedIn, a business and employment-focused social media company, is set to layoff 668 workers across various departments. LinkedIn upcoming layoffs align with the company’s plan for FY 24. LinkedIn will layoff 668 workers across engineering, product, talent, and finance teams. The company said in its official blog post, “Talent changes are a difficult, but necessary and regular part of managing our business. The changes we shared with our team today will result in a reduction of approximately 668 roles across our engineering, product, talent and finance teams.”
Microsoft-owned LinkedIn will layoff 137 workers from the Engineering management team and 38 workers from the Product team. Around 368 workers will be laid off from the Engineering team. The company said that around 563 workers will be laid off across the R & D.
Workers at Engineering and Product teams are at great risk of layoffs. Some workers at Engineering and Product departments will be affected by the recent layoffs.
Recently, a LinkedIn employee posted about a potential “kill list” that was created by the company. The kill list reportedly had names of employees impacted by the layoffs. The kill list was spotted by employees over the weekend. They were worried about getting fired. Their fear came true on Monday night.
Microsoft, an American multinational technology corporation, laid off more than 1,000 workers in July. Earlier this year, the company announced 10,000 job cuts. Microsoft also closed the “Digital Sales and Success” group and a sales and customer service team.
Microsoft laid off 276 workers in the Seattle area. The company also laid off 158 workers from its Redmond, Washington, headquarters. Microsoft also laid off 66 remote employees.
