On Monday, four Catholic priests were sentenced to 10 years in prison by judge Nicaraguan.
The reason that is burning, in this case, is that they were fueling “sedition” and “spreading false news”. Rights groups called for an increased crackdown on critics of President Daniel Ortega.
This is not the first case of a priest serving a sentence behind bars for decades.
Similar charges were applied to two Catholic seminarians who were studying for the priesthood, sending them to prison for years.
Bishop Rolando Alvarez is leading the six men, who are from the Diocese of Matagalpa in Nicaragua. He was arrested with them last August.

After these happened Human Rights groups are criticizing them, the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights posted a criticism on Twitter, “We condemn these perverse actions of the regime, which violate human rights,”
Human rights groups are showing their anger and calling for the speedy release of all Prestige.
The Nicaraguan government and the Catholic bishops of the country conference did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
