An anti-government rally which was led by the supporters of Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan in Islamabad. The Police authorities had encircled the city by blocking the roads with containers and the mobile network services to avoid further misfortune. Because of the series of high-level diplomatic events which are to be held ahead which includes the visit of the Foreign Minister of India, S.Jaishankar for the SCO Summit on October 15-16.

SCO – Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit is an annual meeting which focuses on developing the economic, political, and security cooperation and alliance of the members of this summit. This event will be attended by the heads of state or government of the member countries of the SCO Summit. It was established in 2001 with the founding members which includes China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The 2024 (SCO) Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is going to take place in Islamabad, Pakistan on October 15 to 16. Both Pakistan and India became full members in SCO in 2017.

It is reported that Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will be the first Indian Foreign Minister to attend a SCO Summit in Pakistan in nearly a decade. Since, both the countries are encountered as rivals and share a controversial neighbourhood for years. Adding to this event, the Pakistan government, police, and the paramilitary troops are guarding the roads of the capital city because of the arrival of the Malaysian Prime Minister on his three day visit. The clash between the police and paramilitary troops forced them to use teargas against the fierceful supporters of Imran Khan who eluded the blockades. 

It is reported according to the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) that many supporters and sisters of former PM were detained under the law enforcement after the outbreak of violence and clash in an anti-government rally.
