Russian Ministry of Labor revealed the unemployment benefit amount from February
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia disclosed a pivotal information data regarding the unemployment benefits for the year 2025 which has increased by 7.3%. This leads to the raise of maximum monthly benefits from 13,751 rubles in 2024 to 14,720 in 2025. It is expected to align the unemployment benefits with the country’s inflation rate and the financial assistance will also be balanced with its purchasing power.
To utilise the unemployment benefits an individual must possess the eligibility to register. One must register their details at an employment office and should have at least 26 weeks of full-time employment in the past 12 months.
Insured Average Monthly Wage – 75% (first three months), 60% (next four months), 45% (subsequent five months).
In the Finance Mail.ru it is stated that, “The cabinet ministers of Russia have signed a document on indexation and they clarified that the benefit amount from the month of February is expected to be more than 15 thousand rubles. More than 40 payments, compensations and benefits will be increased according to the level of actual inflation. The certificate for the first child will be 660 thousand rubles, & for the second child it will receive an additional 220 thousand rubles if they did not apply for a certificate for the first”.
Based on the information revealed by the Rosstat data in November 2024, the unemployment rate in Russia is estimated as 1.8 million and the employed are 74.8 million.
