The recent statement of SAP CEO Christian Klein regarding the quantum computing which will be dominating the software enterprise in the next three to four years has become a contradictory one with the statement delivered by the Nvidia CEO who said that quantum computing will not be very useful in the next fifteen to thirty years. The comments over quantum computing by the CEO’s has sparked the debate between the professionals in that field.
“We will see quantum, not in 10 or 15 years, but certainly in three to four years,” said CEO Christian Klein.
“There is a door which is opening with quantum computing. We see this absolutely. A supply chain is an unbelievably complex construct. You have millions of suppliers and to really calculate the right logistics, to really calculate which supplier can deliver best when, to really say which factory should you produce, to deliver on time” he added.
SAP has been involved in researching the implications of quantum computing for data security and other sectors, for which they have partnered with the European Quantum Industry Consortium, and the Quantum Technology and Application Consortium. Though it resolves complex problems, there are some challenges in integrating quantum computing into the existing systems.
“There are a lot of things coming together. But time-wise, we can definitely believe that simulations you would run today in a week, you can probably bring down to an hour. Give this technology a few more years, probably we will talk hours or minutes at a certain point of time” said SAP CEO Christian Klein

It is an advanced type of computing which works based on the principles of quantum mechanics to process information and the unit of data which is used in quantum mechanics are quantum bits or qubits. Speed and complex problem-solving are the key features of quantum computing.
