Trump Deports 37,660 Migrants in First Month, Below Biden’s Deportation Average 

According to the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. President Donald Trump deported 37,660 migrants in his first month of work. Although this is a large number, it only gets down to the monthly average of 57,000 deportations under Joe Biden administration.

Trump who vowed to conduct the biggest sweep of deportations in U.S. history during his campaign now has less than deporting of people out of the country under Biden’s final year. Much of the Biden numbers were more inflated than actual due to an increase in illegal immigration that made arrest/deportation of large numbers of migrants easier.

However, Trump staff and experts think deportations will mount in upcoming months. The administration is also considering new approaches to boost arrests and removals, through deals with countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador and Panama to take back deported migrants.

The U.S. military has also contributed to deportation flights in different countries like Honduras, Ecuador and India as well. The Trump administration is also expected to bring about the detention of up to 30,000 migrants at Guantanamo Bay, which has met opposition from civil liberties holders.

The administration is also reversing many of the Biden orders, including allowing ICE agents to arrest migrants in immigration court and issuing a round up of individuals with final orders to appear.
