UN experts raise concerns about fuel shortages and humanitarian aid blockages in Gaza

Israeli authorities continue to block UN-led efforts to bring critical humanitarian aid to North Gaza, including the most recent attempt on Friday, UN Spokesperson Stephanie Dujarric said at a recent media briefing in the US.

Out of 21 planned attempts on Thursday, Israeli authorities facilitated only 10. Experts are seriously concerned about the impact of falling fuel supplies on essential amenities. Telecommunication companies are facing great challenges due to fuel shortages.

Damaged roads and insufficient access by the Israeli authorities are making it increasingly difficult to safely reach the stricken hospitals in Gaza. Dujarric called for immediate action to make roads more passable.In Lebanon, $30 million has been allocated from the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund to address the impact of the recent conflict. The funding is going to focus on food security, nutrition, healthcare, sanitation, education and shelter, among other things..
