US: Eligibility criteria for unexpected stimulus checks for January 2025
The US is preparing its financial schemes for qualified residents in 2025. It is expected that about 1 million taxpayers earlier unable to claim their 2021 rebate credit on tax returns could get a special reimbursement of $1,400 from the IRS.
In terms of the eligibility criteria, the applicant needs to be a legal and permanent citizen of the US. He/she also needs to have settled their tax returns from earlier years or have filed the tax returns last year.
For individual taxpayers, the threshold income must not cross $75,000. The threshold income of married couples filing taxes together must not exceed $150,000. For family heads, the threshold income should not cross $112,000.
The $1,400 stimulus checks are going to be directly deposited in the bank accounts of the eligible candidates by the end of January. But officials are yet to confirm. The candidates need to file the 2021 tax returns before April 5.
