As the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic spreads throughout Europe, many European Union member countries have expanded measures and re-imposed lockdown rules.
Since January, various EU leaders have been examining to limit unnecessary travel across the bloc’s boundaries to curb the spread of the virus. Various mutant strains have emerged from South Africa, the UK, and Brazil. Since 24 January 2021, anyone arriving from outside the EU would have to take a test for coronavirus before departure.
The infectious new variant of the SARS Cov-2, especially the B117 mutation found in Britain is spreading very quickly in the 27 European nations.
As per to the World Health Organization (WHO), the variant has spread in Italy, Germany, Denmark, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain. To fight the dangerous UK strain, the EU has barred everything except cargo or travelers from entering the bloc from the UK.
However, every EU nation has its own norms on how residents of third nations may enter if they are already in a Schengen or EU country. Every EU member state has its own rules to control the spread of the virus, like quarantine protocols after entering from another country. Moreover, local measures may vary from one another according to the covid-19 wave.
The EU is distributed into orange, green, and red zones. There is also a grey color for locales from which insufficient data is available. As of now, the red color dominates Europe.
However, if anyone still requires traveling, the EU Commission will provide help to travelers from Re-open EU App. The app will provide up-to-date data on safety measures, health situations, and travel limitations for all EU nations.
Moreover, the above-given information could vary according to the different EU member nation’s government protocols. The German government is also urging all residents to avoid unnecessary travel within the nation and also overseas. German airlines announced that they are planning Covid tests on people who are arriving in the nation.
