Under a new partnership Ghana and the World Bank work to develop a Growth and Jobs Strategy that opens up employment opportunities for Ghana’s young entering workers each year. World Bank personnel head Anna Bjerde and Ghanaian Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson signed this partnership at the Bank’s headquarters through their senior-level meetings.
“Our joint effort serves both our organizations’ mission to help young people find new opportunities according to Bjerde during the project premiere announcement. Our partnership with Ghana will develop job opportunities and strengthen an economy that can recover better from challenges.”
Dr. Forson believes that this alliance can help Ghana achieve its employment goals because the country needs powerful specific solutions to handle growing levels of unemployed people. He declared our initiative would open more decent and long-term employment options for young people.
Ghana needs World Bank assistance because its efforts to grow new industries and make jobs for its numerous young workers face a vital moment. Research shows Ghanaians reach 500,000 new hiring age per year so the country needs to create more career openings immediately.
The strategic partnership will focus on three key areas:
- Job creation across multiple sectors of the economy
- Skills development programs aligned with market demands
- Inclusive economic growth initiatives targeting underserved regions
